Chinese Foreign Minister H E Yang Jiechi and his delegation were in Bahrain for the 3rd Ministerial Conference of Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum and an official visit during 20-20 May 2008.
At the outset of the Conference on 21 inst., all the participants observed the silence in mourning to the victims in China’s Wenchuan by devastating quake in light of the move by Arab Chair. The joint Communique stressed that the arab side expressed their sympathies to Chinese side for the slain and the injured as well as properties losses caused by the said disaster, fully back 29th Olympic Games to be held in Beijing soon, reiterated the recognition of Taiwan being an intrinsic part of China and strongly opposed Taiwan authority attempts of UN membership and participation in other international organizations and conferences qualified by the sovereign countries.
At the sideline of the conference, H E Yang had separate audiences with HM the king Hamad and HRH PM Khalifa, having conveyed them the greetings and invitations on visit to China from the Chinese leaderships, he also held a talk with his Bahraini counterpart H E Khalid.
